Job Description:

Our company uses its own patented process to manufacture ultra-high purity alumina at significantly lower cost than conventional process routes. We recently commissioned our first manufacturing plant and it is now producing alumina, with strong “green” credentials (our plant is powered totally by renewable energy), at 99.999% (5N) purity. We are now in the early stages of marketing the product globally to customers in the lithium-ion battery, synthetic sapphire, and advanced ceramics industries.

We are looking to recruit a Sales and Marketing [Director/Vice President/CRO] with the following profile to drive our sales by developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies appropriate to each of our target customer segments.

This is a home based, remote working position and is an exciting opportunity to join a rapid growth company with ample funding. A very attractive performance related package is available to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to CEO;
Driving the sales and developing and managing a Sales and Marketing team;
Developing and implementing strategies to attract both existing and new customers in a manner that supports the achievement of top line and bottom line growth, inclusive of strategic elements such as pricing, market research and segmentation, product promotion, direct v. agency sales, etc,;
Determining customer needs and working closely with the R&D and Production teams to optimise the product offer for those needs;
Developing strategic partnerships to drive sales in selected markets, as appropriate;
Establishing standards and best practices.

Requirements:

At least 7-10 years of sales and marketing experience, with an in-depth knowledge of the global market for industrial minerals, ideally with significant direct experience in the synthetic sapphire and/or advanced ceramics manufacturing industries;
Existing network of industrial contacts with strong potential for generating early sales of alumina;
Ability to develop and implement strategic solutions and to drive and manage a sales and marketing team to meet sales targets;
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to deal with multiple tasks effectively and establish priorities;
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English – ability to conduct business in French and German too would be preferred;
Strong organizational and time management.
